Linkun Han – new PhD student
After waiting a long time for his visa, Linkun Han has finally arrived in the lab. He has plenty of experience in molecular neuroscience already and will use his skills to decipher molecular mechanisms of synaptic plasticity and how such mechanisms regulate food intake.
New postdoc: Manish Bhattacharjee
Manish Bhattacharjee studied posttranslational modifications in malaria parasites during his PhD. For his postdoc, he will use his biochemical approach to physiological processes to investigate fundamental mechanisms regulating food intake.
New grant! – Märta Lundqvist’s Foundation
Märta Lundqvist’s Foundation has awarded the lab generous funding to study the connection between food and anxiety in anorexia nervosa, and how it is possible to break that connection to help patients eat without feeling anxious.
Funding to set up translational psychiatry infrastructure
Umeå University awarded us funding to set up an infrastructure for translational psychiatry. Translational psychiatry is expected to herald completely novel safe and effective treatments against psychiatric disorders. To bridge the gap between patients and neuro-molecular mechanistic research, we received funding to purchase a state-of-the-art imaging system.
Batuhan Uygar joins the lab
Batuhan Uygar did is BA in Turkey and his Master’s at Karolinska Institutet in Sweden. He has already gained a lot of experience in mapping neuronal circuitry and won several Erasmus scholarships.
